Craig Dawson: 'Lack of action was frustrating'

West Bromwich Albion defender Craig Dawson reveals that he was frustrated waiting for his chance to play in the Premier League.

West Bromwich Albion defender Craig Dawson has admitted that he was frustrated waiting for his chance to play in the Premier League behind Gareth McAuley and Jonas Olsson.

Dawson has started the last two top-flight games for the Baggies after Olsson sustained an injury, but the 23-year-old has revealed that he has had to be patient for his chance.

He told the club's official website: "It has been frustrating for me not playing too much but Gaz and Jonas have been very strong over the last few years. They have a great partnership and understanding together.

"It has been tough but I've had to be patient and you just have to push your way into the team to keep everyone else on their toes. We've got a great squad and we need to keep working hard on the training pitch and hopefully get the right results."

Pepe Mel's side are 17th in the Premier League after 26 matches.
