Darren Fletcher: 'James Morrison pestered me into West Bromwich Albion move'

West Brom new boy Darren Fletcher says that Scotland teammate James Morrison hassled him into joining the Baggies on deadline day.

Darren Fletcher has revealed that Scotland teammate James Morrison played a big role in convincing him to join West Bromwich Albion.

The 30-year-old midfielder joined the Baggies on a free transfer from Manchester United on deadline day, ending his 13-year association with the Red Devils.

"James Morrison, who I know well from Scotland duty, has been pestering me for the last week, texting me constantly," he told reporters.

"He was giving me glowing references about how much I would love it here. It feels great."

Fletcher, who signed a two-and-a-half-year deal, could make his debut in Sunday's visit to Burnley.
