Alan Irvine hails Saido Berahino form

West Bromwich Albion boss Alan Irvine praises the recent form of Saido Berahino as the striker notches his sixth goal of the season in his side's 2-2 draw with Manchester United.

West Bromwich Albion boss Alan Irvine believes that it is only matter of time before Saido Berahino receives a call-up to the senior England squad.

The 21-year-old has been in excellent form for the Baggies and the Three Lions Under-21s this season, and he notched his sixth goal in the Premier League in the campaign in his side's 2-2 draw against Manchester United.

Irvine told the club's official website: "Berahino has been in great form and he deserves what he's getting as a reward. His application in training is top class. He's behaving like a top professional on and off the pitch and if he keeps doing that he has a great future.

"If he scores goals he has a great chance but Roy [Hodgson] will decide when the right time is for him to go him. I told him to keep doing the right things and the rewards will come.

"People will make those decisions and if he keeps performing like that he has a real chance of becoming a senior international at some point."

The Baggies are 14th in the Premier League with nine points from their eight matches this season.
