Tony Pulis: 'West Bromwich Albion cannot be distracted by FA Cup run'

Tony Pulis wants his West Bromwich Albion players to take confidence from their FA Cup thrashing of West Ham United into their push for Premier League survival.

West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis has warned his players not to take their eye off Premier League survival with an FA Cup quarter-final appearance on the horizon.

The Baggies' 4-0 victory over West Ham United last weekend saw them progress into the last eight of the competition, where they will face local rivals Aston Villa.

However, Pulis, who took over from Alan Irvine at the turn of the year, wants his group to concentrate on maintaining their drive up the league table following a run of one defeat in six.

"I have had absolutely no thoughts about Aston Villa at all," FourFourTwo quotes the Welshman as saying. "For all the talk and all the hype, there is all the work to do in front of us before we even open that door.

"The players can glean a lot of confidence out of what we have done so far but we will need those results. We need to step on and not take our foot off the pedal. For all what we have done it still going to be a tough journey right until the end of the season."

West Brom find themselves four points off the drop zone ahead of this weekend's meeting with Sunderland.
