Second scan for Chris Brunt

West Bromwich Albion skipper Chris Brunt will undergo a second scan to determine the extent of his ankle complaint.

West Bromwich Albion captain Chris Brunt will undergo a second scan to determine the extent of his ankle injury, according to PA Sport.

The Northern Ireland international sustained the problem during the Baggies' 1-0 home loss to Everton on Sunday afternoon.

He soon went for an initial scan but the results have proved inconclusive.

West Brom manager Roy Hodgson believes that the injury could be a serious one, having told reporters: "It doesn't look very good with Chris Brunt with the way he came off the field.

"It is a painful one. It is a job to assess exactly what happened. He had no-one near him at the time. We will have to wait and see what the doctors and the scan say."

Brunt, 27, joined West Brom in 2007 from Sheffield Wednesday.
