Darren Moore: 'West Bromwich Albion have started to mend fan relationship'

West Bromwich Albion manager Darren Moore is hopeful that his side's improved form has begun to mend the relationship between the club and its fans.

West Bromwich Albion caretaker manager Darren Moore has said that he hopes the club's recent form has begun to mend the relationship with the fans.

The Baggies looked certain to be relegated from the Premier League for much of the campaign, but they have now gone five games unbeaten under Moore, including victories over Manchester United, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur.

The latter of those - which came courtesy of a last-gasp Jake Livermore strike this afternoon - saw West Brom climb off the bottom of the table for the first time since January, and they now sit just two points from safety with one game remaining.

Survival ultimately remains out of their hands, but Moore is confident that the improved mood around the club will serve them well for the future, even if they are condemned to relegation.

"I really do hope so. We've come together and there's been some pride restored and the feelgood factor within the community and within the supporters," he told reporters.

"I feel from the crowd there was an excellent energy in the football club. If it has restored that I'm really happy for the club, that's all anyone would want so we're really happy.

"The important thing for me is that we come together for the importance of the club, if we do that we'll make the right decisions for the future."

West Brom will face Crystal Palace in the final game of the season, although their relegation will be confirmed on Tuesday night if either Southampton or Swansea City win when the two strugglers go head to head.
