Karren Brady: 'No place in football for Ched Evans'

West Ham United vice-chairman Karren Brady believes that "there should be no place anywhere in football" for convicted rapist Ched Evans.

West Ham United vice-chairman Karren Brady has said that it is "impossible to think" that Ched Evans will play football again.

The former Sheffield United striker was convicted for rape in 2012, but was released from prison this week after serving half of his five-year sentence.

"Rape is a most serious crime and there is simply no way I would agree with West Ham employing a convicted rapist," Brady told The Sun.

"Ched Evans, unanimously convicted by a jury with even the judge rejecting his right to appeal, would have no place at my club.

"There should be no place for him anywhere in football. It is impossible to think he can slip back into his old life so easily."

Sheffield United manager Nigel Clough has said that the club are yet to make a decision about re-signing the 25-year-old former Manchester City forward.
