Queens Park Rangers and West Ham United will reportedly fight it out to sign Toronto striker Jermain Defoe in January.
Defoe is poised to quit the MLS club and return to the Premier League, with QPR still interested despite wage demands apparently scuppering a deadline-day move to Loftus Road.
However, the Hammers are also keen on the 31-year-old and would be willing to match his £90,000-a-week salary, according to The Mirror.
The former Tottenham Hotspur ace left White Hart Lane for the Canadian outfit in February and has since struck 11 times in 16 outings.
However, Defoe is said to have grown disillusioned with life at Toronto following the sacking of manager and his former Spurs teammate Ryan Nelsen last month.
