Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer news and rumours, including Dominic Calvert-Lewin to West Ham United and Matt O'Riley to Leicester City.

West Ham United have reportedly enquired about the availability of Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

The 27-year-old has endured an injury-riddled last couple of years, keeping him on the sidelines for long periods of time at Goodison Park.

Calvert-Lewin enjoyed better availability across the course of the 2023-24 term, though, featuring in 32 Premier League fixtures for Sean Dyche's troops.

That being said, the 11-time England international has not been able to hit the goalscoring heights of yesteryear since returning from spells in the medical room.

The former Sheffield United man has a single year left on his current deal in Merseyside, meaning that he could leave for nothing in 12 months time.

According to Football Insider, West Ham are the latest Premier League side to showcase an interest in securing the services of Calvert-Lewin.

The report states that new Hammers manager Julen Lopetegui is striving for a top-class striker signing ahead of his first season in charge at the London Stadium.

It is understood that Newcastle United are also keen on a move for Calvert-Lewin this summer, should the Magpies be able to offload Callum Wilson before the end of August.

Since making the switch from Bramall Lane to Everton in August 2016, the towering forward has bagged 68 goals in 247 competitive matches for the Toffees.

Leicester City to miss out on Celtic's O'Riley?

Moving onto a club who are back in the English top flight to battle with the likes of Everton, Leicester are supposedly prepared to miss out on one of their primary transfer targets in Celtic man Matt O'Riley.

The Denmark international enjoyed a stellar campaign at Parkhead as the Bhoys lifted a third straight Scottish Premiership title, piping arch rivals Rangers to the crown.

O'Riley was a talismanic figure from the engine room for Celtic, netting 18 goals and providing 13 assists in 37 Premiership fixtures last term.

Despite such impressive displays on the domestic scene, the Dane was not selected for his nation's Euro 2024 campaign in Germany this summer.

Nevertheless, the vultures are circling around Celtic's biggest asset this window, with potential purchaser Leicester set to miss out as major European players enter the race for the midfielder.

As per Football Insider, Europa League winners Atalanta BC are keen on signing O'Riley, who could be tempted by the opportunity to play Champions League football in Italy.

Leicester's campaign is set to be less glamorous in comparison, with Steve Cooper's troops in line for a Premier League relegation battle amid fears of a points deduction for breaching Profit and Sustainability rules.

The Foxes have been forced into the market for a new playmaker following the departure of academy graduate Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to Chelsea.

Birmingham City 'close' to signing Hearts defender

Heading down two divisions into League One, it has been reported by Football Insider that Birmingham City are closing in on their fifth signing of the summer window.

The report states that Hearts full-back Alex Cochrane will undergo a medical with Blues on Monday ahead of a transfer to the League One outfit.

Jambos head coach Steven Naismith has already confirmed that the club have accepted an offer from an English club for Cochrane, who was previously on the books of Brighton & Hove Albion.

Known for his willingness to bomb forward as a wing-back, the 24-year-old should prove to be a useful tool for Chris Davies as he attempts to instil a high-energy style of football at St Andrew's @ Knighthead Park.

The Second City club are understood to be paying £1m for the signature of Cochrane, with the former England youth international having 12 months left on his current deal at Tynecastle.
