Dave Whelan's dream comes true

Wigan Athletic chairman Dave Whelan admits that he had a dream about his side beating Everton and facing Blackburn Rovers at Wembley.

Wigan Athletic chairman Dave Whelan has revealed that he dreamt about his side's FA Cup victory over Everton.

Wigan won 3-0 at Goodison Park this afternoon to advance to the semi-finals and a Wembley appearance.

As a player, Whelan was stretchered off at Wembley and he admits that he has unfinished business.

"I had a dream this week, and the dream was we came here and beat Everton, Blackburn beat Millwall and we face Blackburn at Wembley," Whelan told ITV.

"I've got unfinished business at Wembley. I was carried off in the 42nd minute and I still feel I should've got a winner's medal that day, no substitutes back then remember.

"If we could play Blackburn at Wembley and get the FA Cup in Wigan it will be absolutely unbelievable."

Wigan won the match thanks to three goals in four first-half minutes.
