Half-Time Report: Wigan Athletic lead Reading at the break

Callum McManaman's goal gives Wigan Athletic a 1-0 lead at half time against Reading.

Wigan Athletic lead Reading 1-0 at half time at the DW Stadium thanks to Callum McManaman's effort.

The visitors started brightly and Nick Blackman nearly gave his side the lead inside the first 10 minutes when his header came off the post from a corner kick.

However, the home side had the lead just before the half-hour mark when McManaman raced through before keeping his cool with a dinked finish over goalkeeper Adam Federici from a tight angle.

Andrew Taylor came close to marking his debut with a spectacular effort, but his 30-yard strike went narrowly wide before the end of the half.
