Roberto Martinez has said that he is grateful after Conor Sammon's red card appeal was successful.
The midfielder was shown a straight red for an apparent elbow on Manchester United's Michael Carrick on Boxing Day, but replays suggested that the decision was harsh.
Wigan launched an appeal yesterday, and Martinez believes that the FA got it right.
"We thank the panel for their decision, which is the correct one," he said.
"I'm delighted to have him available for the next three matches. It would have been unfair for him to share the frustrating feeling he had on Monday for three games after doing nothing wrong."
Sammon is available for Wigan's trip to Stoke on Saturday.
