Roberto Martinez has said that he is content with Wigan's Premier League campaign going down to the wire – as long as it results in a happy ending.
Wigan secured top-flight survival on the final day of last season, beating Stoke 1-0 to stay up.
"Would I hate to go through all that again? My answer has to be yes and no," Martinez said.
"That was probably more rewarding than achieving it with a few games to go. If you finish with that happy ending you really don't mind.
"And you have to be realistic and consider who we are, and that is the best example of what all lower-league sides aspire to."
Wigan are currently in the relegation zone, with 14 points from 18 games.
