How Wolverhampton Wanderers could line up against Aston Villa

Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Wolverhampton Wanderers could line up in Saturday's Premier League clash with Aston Villa.

Wolverhampton Wanderers will attempt to bounce back from Tuesday's 4-1 defeat at Manchester City when they continue their Premier League season away to Aston Villa on Saturday evening.

Head coach Nuno Espirito Santo will again be unable to call upon Daniel Podence, Fernando Marcal or Raul Jimenez at Villa Park, although the latter is making strong progress in his recovery from a serious head injury, and it is hoped that the striker could return before the end of the campaign.

Willy Boly has recently been absent with a knock, but the defender was back on the bench against Man City on Tuesday evening, meaning that he could be in the manager's thinking for a start.

The 30-year-old has not featured since the start of February, though, and it would not be a surprise to see him among the substitutes once again, with Leander Dendoncker retaining his spot at the back alongside Conor Coady and Romain Saiss.

Nuno left January signing Willian Jose out of the starting side against Man City, but there is a chance that the Brazilian could be back in the XI, potentially joining Adama Traore and Pedro Neto as part of a front three.

Nelson Semedo operated further forward against Pep Guardiola's side, but Willian Jose's expected return could see the former drop back to right-back and Ki-Jana Hoever move down to the bench.

Nuno has limited options for change in the two midfield positions, meaning that Joao Moutinho and Ruben Neves should retain their spots, with Vitinha again expected to be on the bench.

Fabio Silva was introduced just before the hour against the league leaders last time out and is another option in the final third, but the highly-rated 18-year-old has only managed two league goals this season.

Wolves possible starting lineup: Patricio; Dendoncker, Coady, Saiss; Semedo, Neves, Moutinho, Jonny; Traore, Willian Jose, Neto
