Wolverhampton Wanderers beat Doncaster Rovers in seven-goal thriller

Wolverhampton Wanderers end their pre-season preparations with a 4-3 victory away at Doncaster Rovers.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have edged out Doncaster Rovers by a 4-3 scoreline in a thrilling game at the Keepmoat Stadium.

Doncaster began the match brightly and after six minutes, Harry Forrester almost forced a save out of Carl Ikeme but his 30-yard free kick drifted just over the crossbar.

Wolves came back into the game but on 20 minutes, Doncaster took the lead when Andy Butler headed the ball into the net from six yards.

However, a minute later, Wolves were back on level terms when Benik Afobe tapped home from a corner, before they completed the turnaround just before the half-hour mark when Jordan Graham drilled the ball home after being set up by Nouha Dicko.

Wolves struck again on 36 minutes when Dicko got the final touch after a flick from Kortney Hause, but right on half time, Doncaster reduced the deficit when Rob Jones headed home at the back post.

Soon after the restart, it was 3-3 when Nathan Tyson capitalised on indecision in the Wolves defence before providing a simple finish from close range.

Rajiv van La Parra almost netted the seventh goal of an end-to-end contest but his powerful shot was punched away by the goalkeeper.

Shortly after the hour, Wolves had their fourth thanks to Bright Enobakhare, who sprinted past several Doncaster players before providing a smart finish to make his mark in the first team.

Doncaster pushed for an equaliser, but Wolves were able to hang on to complete their pre-season preparations on a positive note.
