Adama Traore 'angry at Wolverhampton Wanderers treatment'

Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Adama Traore reportedly believes that his lack of starts is down to his refusal to sign a new contract at Molineux.

Adama Traore has reportedly been left seething at Wolverhampton Wanderers over his treatment after contract talks stalled with the West Midlands outfit.

Having starred for Wolves during the 2019-20 campaign, Traore has since been linked with moves to a host of top European clubs, namely Liverpool, Barcelona and Real Madrid.

However, Traore has struggled to force his way into Nuno Espirito Santo's starting lineup on a consistent basis recently, with the 24-year-old starting just three Premier League games this term.

According to The Athletic, Traore believes that his spell on the bench is down to his refusal to sign an extension which he did not think reflected his importance to the team.

The publication was told by a source: "Adama thinks it could be part of a strategy to get him to sign a new contract, but he does not want to.

"So that's why [he thinks] he's not in the team. He's a bit pissed off, to be honest."

The Spain international is under contract at Molineux until 2023 but is yet to register a goal or assist in the current Premier League campaign.
