Kenny Jackett: 'No interest in Benik Afobe'

Wolves manager Kenny Jackett insists that there has been no interest shown in striker Benik Afobe ahead of the January transfer window.

Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Kenny Jackett has insisted that there has been no interest shown in striker Benik Afobe ahead of the January transfer window.

Afobe was reportedly in high demand during the summer window having scored 32 goals throughout the 2014-15 season, first with MK Dons and later with Wolves.

A number of clubs are still thought to be keeping tabs on Afobe despite the 22-year-old recently having been demoted to the bench following a run of just one goal in seven, but Jackett insists that the former Arsenal man is still fully focused on the job in hand.

"There have been no offers or approaches from any clubs. Until that happens, nothing happens. Should it build up like last time we'll have to see. As it stands there's nobody making any enquiries, it's all quiet on that front," Jackett told the club's official website.

"No, we haven't had any difference or conversations on Benik, other than making sure he scores goals and plays well. And he hasn't thrown his toys out of the pram at all.

"He's been working hard, again trained hard and well, and scored goals in training which is good. We want him to really push now and get back."

Wolves currently sit 14th in the Championship table having won just two of their last 10 outings.
