Gillingham manager Martin Allen has revealed that he banned his players from drinking alcohol during pre-season training.
The 47-year-old has revealed that while in Le Touquet, France, before the start of the season, his players were given board games to occupy their time in the evening as opposed to drinking alcohol.
"Dinner was at 7pm, then no-one was allowed to leave the hotel," Allen told the Daily Mail. "We had a zero tolerance to alcohol.
"Instead we brought a big box of board games - Frustration!, Scattergories, Monopoly, chess, Draughts, Pictionary. All the players played them until 10pm then they were so knackered they went to bed."
Gillingham currently top the League Two table with 69 points.
