Paul Anderson: 'Huddersfield Giants should have won'

Huddersfield Giants coach Paul Anderson claims that his team did not deserve their dramatic defeat to St Helens.

Huddersfield Giants coach Paul Anderson has claimed that his side deserved to beat St Helens on Friday night.

The Giants suffered a dramatic 35-34 defeat at Langtree Park as their three-game winning run in Super League was ended.

Despite not leading during the match, Anderson believes that Huddersfield should have come away with the spoils.

"I think we did enough to win more than the one game we should have won tonight," he told the club's official website. "The amount of possession that we had and the opportunities that we blew... when you're at this side of the competition and at this level you've got to take your opportunities.

"Credit to Saints, they kept battling away, but I think some of the tries we conceded were pretty soft. We'll grow from this. The boys are angry more than anything; they're angry for losing because they know they should have won."

Huddersfield return to Super League action on July 18 when they make the trip to Catalans Dragons.
