Hull Kingston Rovers secure comeback win over Salford Red Devils

Hull Kingston Rovers rally from a 12-point deficit at the break to defeat the Salford Red Devils 46-22 in their Super League clash.

Hull Kingston Rovers scored 36 unanswered points in the second half to secure a 46-22 comeback win over the Salford Red Devils in their Super League qualifier.

The Red Devils took the lead in the fifth minute through Greg Johnson when he crashed through a tackle to find the line, but the home side responded to take the advantage as Kris Welham and George Lawler.

Salford levelled the scores when Harrison Hansen crossed the line and they took the lead through tries from Lama Tasi and Ryan Lennon to take a 22-10 advantage into half time.

However, Josh Mantellato brought Hull back into the game after the break when he finished off a neat move in the corner, while Ken Sio levelled the scores as he found the line in the 48th minute.

Dane Chisholm extended the home side's lead when he powered over the line from close range, and Tyrone McCarthy handed Kingston Rovers a 12-point lead as he evaded a challenge and touched down.

Hull continued to pile on the points as Ben Cockayne added a score in the 71st minute and Maurice Blair secured the victory in the 78th minute when he touched down for his side's eighth try.
