Warrington Wolves defeated Castleford Tigers in an entertaining Super League encounter at the Halliwell Jones Stadium this afternoon.

Tony Smith's men, who scored four unanswered tries in the opening 13 minutes, eventually prevailed as 40-24 victors.

Ben Westwood crossed over twice for Wolves, while Chris Riley, Ryan Atkins, Rhys Evans, Richie Myler and Garreth Carvell also touched down.

Justin Carney, Michael Shenton, Richard Owen and Jake Webster replied for Castleford, who were thoroughly outplayed on the day.
