British and Irish Lions head coach Warren Gatland has admitted that he doesn't expect wing George North to be fit in time to face Australia in the first Test on Saturday.
The Welshman has been a major doubt since picking up a hamstring injury during the 64-0 win over the Combined Country last week, but the side's medical team believe that he could still make the series opener with the Wallabies.
However, boss Gatland is less confident on the matter but will wait before making a decision on North after further tests on Wednesday.
"The hamstring is still tight, he is still being treated," said Gatland.
"We have to make the call on Wednesday. He has not trained. To be honest, he is less than 50-50."
The Lions face the Brumbies on Tuesday at 10.40am.
