Sam Warburton: 'Six Nations opener against England is a must-win clash'

Wales captain Sam Warburton labels Friday's Six Nations opener against England at the Millennium Stadium as a "must-win" clash.

Wales captain Sam Warburton has described Friday night's Six Nations opener against England as a "must-win" game for his side.

Wales will welcome Stuart Lancaster's team to the Millennium Stadium for the first time since clinching the Six Nations title at the expense of their Grand Slam-chasing visitors in a 30-3 victory two years ago.

Warburton has urged his side, which includes 11 of the same players that started that victory, to approach Friday's match with the same level of intensity as they look to get their campaign off to a winning start.

"Two years ago, the fact we came out with such intensity was because it was a must-win game - the last of the championship - and we only had one opportunity to win by eight points or more to take the championship," Warburton told reporters.

"We have to treat this game with the same attitude as two years ago. It is a must-win fixture and it is that important.

"If we lose this one, we have three away games out of four to come and it is all uphill from there and extremely tough. It is important to win your home games."

Warburton will win his 50th cap for his country when he leads them out in Cardiff tomorrow night.
