Akapusi Qera: Fiji "looking forward" to Wales test

Fiji captain Akapusi Qera admits that it is "important for us to regroup" following two defeats in five days which leaves his side's World Cup hopes hanging by a thread.

Akapusi Qera has said that Fiji will use the next week to fully regroup ahead of a crucial meeting against Wales.

The Flying Fijians' hopes of progressing out of Pool A have been left hanging by a thread following this evening's 28-13 loss at the hands of Australia.

Defeat against the Wallabies comes just five days after another gruelling performance against England at Twickenham, but Qera is now eagerly anticipating next week's clash with Wales.

"It is important for us to regroup from these two games and to get some motivation from within the group," he told reporters. "We are looking forward to the next game.

"It was tough today, but credit to Australia. They are a good side and they were clinical in some areas of the game."

Fiji were backed by many neutrals inside the Millennium Stadium, who were perhaps eager to see the pool favourites slip up, and Qera was grateful for the vocal support his side received.

"We would like to thank the support from all around the world and the people who came out in their numbers to the Millennium Stadium. Even though we didn't come up with a victory, we want to thank everyone."

Fiji have now lost each of their last five World Cup fixtures.
