Fly-half Jonny Sexton should be fit for Ireland vs. South Africa

Ireland's fly-half Jonny Sexton is expected to overcome a thigh injury to start against South Africa in Dublin this weekend.

Ireland fly-half Jonny Sexton is expected to be fit for the Autumn International against South Africa this weekend.

The 29-year-old suffered some tightness in his thigh while playing for his club side Racing Metro in their home defeat to Oyonnax last Saturday, but he is expected to train fully all week.

Ireland team manager Michael Kearney told reporters: "We don't have a concern over Jonny. He will be expected to play a full part in the sessions over the week."

There is some further good news for Ireland with Gordon D'Arcy, Rob Kearney and Jack McGrath all expected to return to training this week as they bid to prove their fitness.

Ireland play South Africa on Saturday, before games against Georgia and Australia.
