Andy Murray reflects on "brutal match"

Great Britain's Andy Murray describes his Australian Open quarter-final clash with David Ferrer as a "brutal match".

Andy Murray has said that he was involved in a "brutal match" against David Ferrer in the last eight of the Australian Open earlier today.

The Scot won through in four sets against the world number eight, yet it took him over three and a half hours to do so.

Speaking after his victory, the second seed said: "That was a pretty brutal match. The start wasn't so good - a lot of unforced errors.

"But, in the middle of the second set and the third set we both started to play long points. It was pretty physical and I held up pretty good."

Murray has never triumphed at Melbourne Park, having been a beaten finalist on four occasions.
