Andy Murray: 'The last few days have been tough for me'

Australian Open quarter-finalist Andy Murray admits that the last few days have been "very tough" following his father-in-law's health scare.

Andy Murray has admitted that the last few days have been "very tough" following his father-in-law's health scare.

Nigel Sears, who is the father of Murray's pregnant wife Kim, was rushed to hospital on Saturday after collapsing in the Rod Laver Arena while watching Ana Ivanovic take on Madison Keys.

Sears has since been told by doctors that he is healthy enough to fly home from Melbourne, and Murray returned to the court on Monday to take on Bernard Tomic in the fourth round of the Australian Open.

The British number one managed to seal a straight-sets victory to set up a quarter-final clash against David Ferrer.

"The last few days have been very tough, with a lot of emotions and things going on in my head," Murray said after the match. "It has been stressful but hopefully I'll be a bit more relaxed for my next match.

"Ferrer must be playing well to beat John Isner. He makes you work extremely hard, he's been at the top of the game for 10 years and he's very experienced."

Murray has reached the final four times, but is yet to win the Australian Open crown.
