Rafael Nadal says that he is motivated to lead Spain in the Davis Cup final against Argentina.

Rafael Nadal has reassured fans that he is still motivated to lead Spain in the Davis Cup final against Argentina.

The Spanish number one said that he felt "less passionate for the game" after his ATP World Tour Finals exit last week, but insists that his comments were misunderstood.

"Things get blown out of proportion very often because conclusions are drawn far beyond the meaning of what's said," Nadal commented.

"It's true that this season has been tough. More than a lack of passion, it is a weariness from many years of playing at this level, week after week.

"The important thing now is to work each day at 100% with the excitement needed to win the Davis Cup."

Spain are seeking their fifth Davis Cup title, while Argentina are attempting to win their first title in four attempts.

The Davis Cup final begins on Friday, November 2.
