Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has defeated Pablo Carreno Busta in round three of the US Open.
The ninth seed eased through 6-4 6-4 6-4 in New York to set up a meeting with Andy Murray.
Busta lost serve in a mammoth opening game which saw six break points squandered before Tsonga took advantage to come out on top.
The Frenchman did not look back, racking up the set 6-4 and then breaking his opponent in the second to eventually record the same winning margin.
Busta looked to pull a set back, but he was unable to overcome Tsonga in the third having lost serve in the ninth game as his tournament come to and end.
Murray, who won at Flushing Meadows in 2012 saw off Andrey Kuznetsov earlier today.
