Anne Keothavong's second-round Wimbledon hoodoo continued as she was dumped out in straight sets by Sara Errani as SW19 this afternoon.
The British number one lost 6-1 6-1 to the 10th seed, meaning that she has now failed to advance beyond the second round in 12 attempts.
Errani, a French Open finalist a fortnight ago, started brightly and stormed into a 4-0 lead thanks in part to some brilliant touch play around the net and a succession of fine drop shots.
Keothavong got on the board by holding in the fifth game but Errani went on to comfortably claim the first set in under forty minutes.
The second set was a similar story as Errani broke once more to move 4-1 ahead before Keothavong gifted the Italian a chance to serve for the match with a double fault.
Errani didn't need a second invitation as she booked her place in the third round with an eye-catching performance.
Keothavong's defeat means that Heather Watson will be the only Briton in the third round, should Elena Baltacha lose to defending champion Petra Kvitova later today.
