Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud doubt for Chelsea clash, Aaron Ramsey still out

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says that Olivier Giroud could miss this weekend's clash against Chelsea, while Aaron Ramsey is also expected to remain on the sidelines.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has claimed that Olivier Giroud could miss this weekend's clash against Chelsea, while Aaron Ramsey remains sidelined with a hamstring injury.

Giroud, who picked up a red card in last week's Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain, is struggling with a toe injury.

The forward has not yet started a game for the Gunners this season, and he will play no part in tonight's EFL Cup tie against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.

Ahead of this week's action, Wenger told Arsenal's official website that he will wait until the end of the week to assess Giroud's availability for the Chelsea showdown at the Emirates.

Meanwhile, Ramsey, who picked up an injury on the opening weekend of the season, is not expected to be "ready" for this weekend's fixture.
