Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard to be inducted into Hall of Fame

Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard and former Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard will be inducted into the National Football Museum's Hall of Fame in the class of 2017.

Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard and former Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard have been named amongst this year's inductees to the National Football Museum's Hall of Fame.

Gerrard spent 18 years at Liverpool before joining Los Angeles Galaxy in 2015, scoring 186 goals in 710 appearances across all competitions and helping the club to seven major trophies, including the 2005 Champions League.

The midfielder also made 114 appearances for England and is joined in the class of 2017 by another Three Lions centurion in the shape of Lampard, who won 106 caps for his country.

Lampard most notably played 648 times for Chelsea and finished his career as the club's all-time leading goalscorer despite playing in midfield.

Also included in this year's inductees are former Leeds United midfielder Gary Speed, West Ham United legend Billy Bonds and former Arsenal goalkeeper Bob Wilson.

Charlie Roberts, Kelly Smith, Rachel Yankey and Alistair Patrick-Heselton make up the inductees, joining the 152 other football luminaries already honoured.
