Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has heaped praise on Martin Odegaard, hinting that he is keen to sign the Real Madrid midfielder on a permanent deal.
During eight starts and four substitute outings, the January arrival has quickly established himself as a key player for the Gunners.
The playmaker starred as Arsenal battled back from a 3-0 deficit to claim a share of the spoils against West Ham United on Sunday afternoon.
When quizzed on the 22-year-old after the fixture at the London Stadium, Arteta acknowledged that he holds the loanee in high regard.
Speaking to reporters, the Spaniard said: "The way he steps on the pitch, he always wants the ball, the way he commands the pressing. He's been really influential.
"I think we've all been a bit surprised because he looks really shy and humble, but when he steps on that pitch he's a real character and he loves to play football.
"I love talented and creative players that all the time are willing to take the ball and make that happen, that they are mobile and as well hard working. He is one of them."
Odegaard's contract at Real Madrid is not due to expire until the end of the 2022-23 campaign.
