Aston Villa are reportedly ready to double Christian Benteke's wages in a bid to perturb any potential suitors from making a bid.
The 22-year-old striker has netted 18 league goals this season, including a hat-trick in Monday's crucial 6-1 win against Sunderland.
The goal return has reportedly seen Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal show an interest in the Belgian, but Villa owner Randy Lerner is ready to multiply the player's salary to stave off any bids, according to the Daily Mail.
The wage boost is thought to see Benteke earn around £40k per week.
