AS Monaco coach Leonardo Jardim has suggested that Wallace did not show any aggression despite his sending off in the club's 1-1 draw against Lyon in Ligue 1.
Wallace saw red midway through the second half for a challenge on Rachid Ghezzal, but Jardim has moved to support his player by proposing that his tackle might not have warranted a dismissal.
"Wallace did not do a stupid foul. It was a foul but there was no aggression," said Jardim, according to the official Ligue 1 website.
"Losing him changed the game. Monaco played very well and I congratulate my players. That's all. I respect everyone. Monaco is a very nice club."
Monaco might have taken three points from the contest, before they were denied by a late goal from former Manchester United defender Rafael.
