Shay Given: 'Aston Villa need another victory'

Shay Given believes that Aston Villa need another victory to be safe following the 1-0 win over West Ham.

Shay Given has claimed that Aston Villa still need another victory to feel safe from the threat of relegation following today's 1-0 win over West Ham United.

Tom Cleverley scored the only goal of the game to move Tim Sherwood's side four points clear of the bottom three, but Given believes that the form of the likes of Leicester City and Sunderland, who both won this afternoon, means that Villa need another positive result.

"It's amazing how many teams are picking up wins at the back end of the season - it's so close - but hopefully another win will get us across the line," the veteran goalkeeper told Sky Sports News.

"If you look at the last few weeks, some of the teams down there have produced results that have been amazing. Teams can get results and drag other teams into it as well.

"Just look at Leicester. They have won six out of their seven games, which is ridiculous when you think they couldn't win a game before that."

Villa travel to Southampton next week before hosting Burnley on the final day of the Premier League season.
