Sylla, Dawkins to feature at Everton
Yacouba Sylla and Simon Dawkins are poised to make their debuts for Aston Villa, having been included in Paul Lambert's provisional squad for Saturday's trip to Everton.

New signings Yacouba Sylla and Simon Dawkins have been included in Aston Villa's squad for tomorrow's Premier League clash with Everton at Goodison Park.

Midfielder Sylla, 22, joined from French Ligue 2 side Clermont Foot, while winger Dawkins, 25, arrived at Villa on loan from Tottenham Hotspur.

Manager Paul Lambert said: "The two of them are ready to go. I wouldn't have any fear about throwing them in, whether it is tomorrow against Everton or West Ham next weekend.

"The lad Sylla will come in and will give us something we don't have with a bit of steel. He'll give us something in the middle of the pitch we haven't got.

"He will get stuck right in and you need players to do the dirty work."

Lambert will make a late check on the fitness of midfielder Fabian Delph, who has been suffering from an ankle injury.

However, Richard Dunne has been ruled out following a recurrence of his groin problem.

Provisional squad: Guzan, Given, Marshall, Lowton, Vlaar, Clark, Lichaj, Stevens, Baker, Bennett, Delph, Sylla, Ireland, Westwood, Dawkins, N'Zogbia, Bannan, Holman, Benteke, Agbonlahor, Bent, Bowery, Weimann, Burke, Johnson, Williams, Carruthers
