Everton are reportedly considering a summer move for Atletico Madrid's Renan Lodi, who is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest.

Everton are reportedly interested in signing Atletico Madrid full-back Renan Lodi, who is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest.

The Brazil international registered six goals and 10 assists in 118 appearances for Atletico before joining Forest on loan last summer.

Since arriving at the City Ground, Lodi has featured in 20 games across all competitions, chipping in with one goal.

While fellow left-back Omar Richards is still yet to make his Forest debut due to a long-term injury, Lodi has managed to fend off the likes of Harry Toffolo and Neco Williams to nail down a place in the starting lineup.

As a result, the Atletico loanee has started the last 10 Premier League games for the Reds, who have the option to purchase the full-back in the summer.

Despite featuring regularly for Steve Cooper's side, Forest are reportedly set to turn down the opportunity to activate the €30m (£26m) buy option in his loan deal.

While his long-term future may not lie at the City Ground, according to Fichajes, Everton are preparing a bid for the Brazilian.

The report claims that Everton would be willing to make a 'competitive offer', as they look to bolster their squad in the summer.

While Lodi is still under contract with Atletico until June 2026, there is a belief that the La Liga club would be open to negotiating with the Toffees.

Everton could face competition for Lodi, though, with a number of 'big-name' clubs believed to be interested in securing his signature.

Sean Dyche currently has Vitaliy Mykolenko and Sporting Lisbon loanee Ruben Vinagre available to him as his two main left-back options.

While the Toffees have the option to buy Vinagre for €20m (£17m) this summer, he is expected to return to his parent club at the end of the season, having made just two league appearances.

Mykolenko, meanwhile, has started all 24 of Everton's Premier League appearances during the 2022-23 campaign, but his performances have come under scrutiny at times this season.

After losing 2-0 to Aston Villa at the weekend, the Toffees dropped into the relegation zone, leaving them one point adrift of safety.

Everton are currently preparing for Wednesday's away meeting with Arsenal, and they will be looking to complete a league double after beating the Gunners 1-0 at Goodison Park earlier this month in Dyche's first game in charge.
