Javier Mascherano: 'We started on the front foot'

Barcelona's Javier Mascherano says that his team entered Tuesday's Champions League quarter-final second leg against Paris Saint-Germain "with the right mindset".

Barcelona centre-back Javier Mascherano believes that his team put on a professional performance against Paris Saint-Germain in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final on Tuesday.

Barca entered the match with a 3-1 lead from the first leg, but scored twice more without reply at Camp Nou to ease into the semi-finals of the competition.

"We went with the right mind-set. Against a team like us, if you plan on defending, you suffer more," Mascherano is quoted as saying by AS.

"Our idea was always to win the game from the first minute. We knew the [first leg ] result was in our favour but we wanted to win the game.

"It's important for the club [to reach the semi-final]. We set ourselves that target before the start of the season. It sounds easy, but it's difficult. There are two games to play before the final. I hope we play two great games and get there. It would be very nice."

Barcelona have been joined in the semi-finals by Bayern Munich.
