Barcelona have won the Spanish Super Cup on away goals after an incident-packed match at the Camp Nou that finished 0-0.
After the 1-1 draw in Madrid, Barca went into the match as slight favourites, but had to settle for a goalless draw after Lionel Messi missed a penalty and Atletico Madrid had two players sent off.
The home side's first chance came when Sergio Busquet's pass found Lionel Messi, but Filipe Luis came across to make the challenge.
Messi was involved again moments later as he ran down the left before finding Alexis Sanchez, but the Chilean failed to make a worthwhile connection.
Barca were the more threatening team, but Jordi Alba's cross failed to reach anyone at the far post.
Arda Turan then clipped in a free kick for the away side but it was just too long for striker Diego Costa.
Costa was then brought down by Alba, which could have meant a red card for the defender, but the offside flag was up.
There was a lack of of clear-cut chances in the first half, as both sides had free kicks cleared.
That soon changed however, as Koke had a good chance for Atletico, but after picking up ball from Gabi, he shot straight at Victor Valdes.
Fabregas could have put Barcelona ahead but he headed into the arms of Thibaut Courtois. Valdes then had to save again just before half time, this time from Turan's powerful shot.
Neymar sent in a cross after the break but Atletico dealt with the danger. The resulting corner was also cleared.
Atletico had the better of the opening exchanges of the second half, but couldn't find a way past the Barca defence.
However, Atletico were then reduced to 10 men after Luis appeared to throw an elbow at Dani Alves.
Barcelona were gifted a great chance to take the lead when Pedro was fouled in the box by Miranda and the referee awarded a penalty. However, Messi smashed it against the crossbar.
The match took another twist a minute later when Turan become the second Atletico player to be red-carded for something he said to the fourth official, despite not being on the pitch.
Despite all of that, Barcelona triumphed on away goals.
