Tottenham Hotspur have failed in their reported pursuit of Barcelona's Carles Alena after the teenager signed a new three-year contract with the Spanish giants on Thursday afternoon.
Earlier this week, it was claimed that Tottenham were attempting to sign Alena in a £2.6m deal, with the 19-year-old said to be considering his future ahead of the 2017-18 campaign.
However, Barcelona have confirmed that the La Masia product has signed a new three-year deal at Camp Nou, which has seen his release clause rise from £2.6m to £66m.
Alena, who has scored four times in 38 appearances for Barcelona B over the last two seasons, made four first-team appearances for his Spanish outfit during the 2016-17 season.
The youngster has also scored twice in 11 appearances for Spain's Under-19 team.
