Bayer Leverkusen smash Hoffenheim

Bayer Leverkusen put five goals past 10-man Hoffenheim.

Bayer Leverkusen have resoundingly beaten Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga with a final score of 5-0.

In the 16th minute Andre Schurrle found Stefan Kiessling inside the box and he thumped a finish into the roof of the net.

It got worse for the visitors as Eugen Polanski fouled Kiessling in the box and was shown a straight red.

Simon Rolfes, however, directed his penalty too close to the centre of the goal and Koen Casteels was able to make the save.

Just after the half-hour it was 2-0, with Schurrle drilling the ball into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.

In the second half it remained one-way traffic as Kiessling and Schurrle raced for their hat-tricks.

First Kiessling headed a Daniel Carvajal cross into the top corner before Schurrle pounced in the box to find the bottom corner for 4-0.

Instead the fifth goal went to Stefan Reinartz, who fired high into the net from around the penalty spot.
