Ruben Castro secures all three points for Real Betis as they beat Celta Vigo 1-0 in La Liga this afternoon.

Real Betis have defeated Celta Vigo 1-0 at Estadio Benito Villamarin in La Liga this afternoon.

The home side had plenty of chances in the first half, finding the back of the net twice, but both Ruben Castro and Nosa Igiebor's efforts were disallowed for offside.

After a bright start to the second half by the visitors, the hosts began to dominate again until Castro managed to break the deadlock in the 68th minute with a powerful strike from close range.

Castro almost added a second eight minutes later, but he saw his header denied by the post.

Celta applied late pressure as Betis switched to a more defensive setup, but the visiting team were unable to find an equaliser.

The result leaves Betis seventh in the table, while Celta sit 19th.
