Chris Hughton praises the goalscoring contribution of Chris Wood

Birmingham manager Chris Hughton salutes Chris Wood after the striker scored a hat-trick against Millwall.

Birmingham City manager has reserved special praise for Chris Wood after the striker claimed a hat-trick during the Blues' 3-0 victory over Millwall this afternoon.

The 19-year-old, who is currently on-loan at St. Andrew's from West Bromwich Albion, opened the scoring during the first half, before finding the net twice after the restart.

"Chris is getting better with each game that he plays and each week that he is with us," Hughton said after the match.

"Anybody coming in and playing as regularly as he is now has an opportunity to develop his game and we are very grateful to West Brom.

"It is one that is working well both ways. We know the ability that he has got and he is able to do it on a regular basis now and we are delighted he is showing the form he is showing."

Wood has scored four goals since joining Birmingham.
