Blackpool manager Ian Holloway has admitted that he is unlikely to sign Jamie Vardy from Fleetwood Town.
Vardy, 25, has scored 20 goals in the Conference this season, as well as finding the net against Holloway's Seasiders in a recent FA Cup tie.
That performance prompted Holloway to submit an offer for the striker, a bid that his counterpart Micky Mellon turned down.
"There'll be lots of bids in for that boy and I'd rather talk to Mick about that," said Holloway.
"I conduct my business with Mick and through my chairman with his chairman and no-one needs to know about it until there is an agreement.
"Whether that ever happens, who knows? I doubt it very much at the moment because they're going to get promoted and he's a huge part of that."
Vardy joined Fleetwood during the summer from FC Halifax Town.
