Half-Time Report: Joe Bennett fires Brighton & Hove Albion in front

Joe Bennett scores in first-half stoppage time to give Brighton & Hove Albion 1-0 lead at the break against Rotherham United in the Championship.

Joe Bennett scored in first-half stoppage time to give Brighton & Hove Albion 1-0 lead at the break against Rotherham United in the Championship.

Jordan Bowery went close for Steve Evans's side on 26 minutes, but his glancing header dropped the wrong side of the post after a good delivery from Ben Pringle.

David Stockdale then made an important stop to deny Paul Green before thwarting a second attempt from the Rotherham man on the half-hour mark.

Stockdale was then forced into another stop towards the end of the half to deny Alex Revell's downwards header.

With the first period petering out, Bennett squeezed the ball home from a tight angle to give the Seagulls the lead at the Amex Stadium.
