Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after undergoing surgery on a dislocated shoulder, according to a report.
The England international landed awkwardly during the Clarets' 1-0 victory against Crystal Palace at the weekend, leading to fears that an operation would be required.
Sky Sports News reports that Heaton is now facing at least a few months out of action while he recovers, forcing boss Sean Dyche to look elsewhere for goalkeeping cover - free agent Anders Lindegaard reportedly among those being considered.
Nick Pope and Adam Legzdins are the two men currently at Dyche's disposal, the former being tasked with filling in at Turf Moor for 50 minutes or so against Palace.
Heaton, used in all four of Burnley's Premier League outings this term, has rivalled Joe Hart for a starting spot at international level of late.
