Cardiff City are reportedly planning to make a move for Ipswich Town striker David McGoldrick this month in order to get their promotion hopes back on track.
The 30-year-old, who is out of contract at the end of the season, scored eight goals in 15 appearances before being sidelined in November and has only recently returned to action.
According to The Sun, Bluebirds manager Neil Warnock is keen to secure the services of McGoldrick - formerly of Southampton, Nottingham Forest and Notts County - as he looks to arrest a run that has seen the side lose their last four games in a row and drop to third in the Championship table.
The newspaper claims that Mick McCarthy's side may be tempted to cash in on McGoldrick now rather than lose him for nothing in the summer, despite his record of 43 goals in almost 150 appearances in his five years with Town.
Birmingham City are also rumoured to be interested in McGoldrick's signature.
