Michael Ballack insists that Chelsea can upset the odds again by beating Bayern Munich to win the Champions League.

Former Chelsea midfielder Michael Ballack has insisted that the Blues can upset the odds again and clinch the Champions League on Saturday.

Chelsea meet another of Ballack's former clubs, Bayern Munich, in the final of Europe's premier competition having defied their underdog tag to beat Barcelona in the last four.

Despite Bayern having home advantage in the clash at the Allianz Arena, Ballack has warned them not to write off the challenge of Roberto Di Matteo's side.

"Of course Chelsea can upset the odds - they did it against Barcelona," the 25-year-old told Chelsea TV.

"Everything looks like Bayern are favourites, they are playing at home which is a big advantage in a final.

"But Chelsea know their strengths and know their quality. in the last few weeks have showed what they can do. They play exactly how they know they have to in order to win and they still have unbelievable quality."

Ballack spent four years at Stamford Bridge after joining from Bayern on a free transfer in 2006.
