Chelsea have confirmed that Ross Barkley has agreed to mutually terminate his contract.
The 28-year-old, who joined Chelsea from Everton in January 2018, scored 12 goals and provided 11 assists in 100 appearances for the club.
However, he fell down the pecking order under Thomas Tuchel, who left Barkley out of the matchday squad for all four of Chelsea's Premier League games this season.
With the midfielder not in Tuchel's plans, a recent report indicated that Chelsea were looking to make an offer to Barkley to terminate his contract early.
Although his deal was due to expire in June 2023, Chelsea have confirmed that Barkley has left the club by mutual consent to become a free agent.
In his time with the club, the Englishman won a Club World Cup, a Europa League title and a FA Cup trophy.
